Spring Open House At Sun

Spring is in the air…. well, it’s been spring for most of the winter this year, but that didn’t stop the annual Spring Open House April 21, 2012 at Sun Harley-Davidson in Thornton.

More than 400 people filled the parking lot with shiny motorcycles and smiling faces for the better part of the day.

“We had a great day,” said Sun General manager Duane Akiyama. “We had a lot of people stop by, everybody hung around for a while and had a good time while they were here. “

Of course, most people were motivated to roll up some miles since the weather was arguably the best of the year so far.

“We originally had our open house scheduled for the 14th,” Akiyama explained, “but the weather was pretty questionable, so we postponed it a week. As it turns out that was the perfect call. We couldn’t have asked for a better day. This is kind of our kick off for the riding season, so having a great weather day just helps put people in the mood to ride.”

As much as people were eager to get out on the pavement, they were more than willing to hang out at Sun, where the CCT HOG Chapter was preparing a free BBQ lunch for all takers. If folks weren’t out in the parking lot swapping lies and making plans for the day—and the rest of the summer—they found their way inside, where a bevy of sale and drastically reduced items were available. Naturally, there was much examination of the broad selection of Harley-Davidson motorcycles on display, too.

It was just a great day,” said Akiyama. “Everyone who came by had a good time, we had fun, and our HOG members really stepped up again by handling the bar-be-que lunch. Those guys are great. They’re great people and they help us a lot with things like this. We couldn’t do it without them.”

Most importantly, though, In case you were still wondering, it’s officially time to be riding your motorcycle…so get on it!
