FAMILY vs. MONEY
Fame and money will ruin you every time.
“American Chopper” stars are involved in a lawsuit over stock options, according to a December report by the celebrity gossip outlet TMZ.
The father and son stars—Paul Teutul Sr. and Paul Teutul Jr.-- from the TLC show, “American Chopper,” are involved in a lawsuit filed by Paul Sr., who is suing Paul Jr. for rights to the Orange County Choppers stock.
Paul Teutul, Sr. claims he had a deal with his son, Paul M. Teutul, in which he could buy his son’s stock from the Orange County Choppers Holdings, Inc. motorcycle company.
Paul Sr., who appears on the cable television show alongside his son, sent Paul Jr. a letter saying he would be exercising his right to buy the stock.
Teutul, Sr. filed the lawsuit to the Supreme Court of New York.
He also filed a suit against Orange County Choppers, Inc.
In the lawsuit, he claimed damages in excess of $1 million and is asking for an order from the judge to force his son to give him the stock.
The reasons behind Paul Sr.’s moves haven’t been made public—at least officially—but the volatile relationship the two demonstrated on the show “American Chopper” lends itself to all kinds of unkind and unflattering speculation.
Fame and money…they’ll ruin you every time.
